I work with children and parents, discovering and finding solutions to improve the parent-child relationship and to manage emotions better.
I became a parent 40 years ago and a divorcee six years later as a teenage parent of two beautiful children.
I experienced hardships, a challenging journey raising myself into adulthood, and as a single parent dealing with my child's undiagnosed learning difficulties, defiance, and unruly behaviors. My children are now grown-up and successful adults. One of them is now a happy parent of two beautiful children. I am a grandma!
After tremendous challenges with my child, we have a healthy and loving relationship.
I graduated from CASE Western Reserve University with a Master of Science in Social Administration – #Master of Social Work with a concentration in direct practice with children, youth, and family service.
I practiced as a mental health provider in a community, clinical, and school-based psychotherapist.
For the past six years, I've helped thousands of children and their families in different environments to reduce the impact of mental health symptoms and improve their overall family and community dynamics.
I am a mental health advocate, speaker, consultant, program director, and founder at Ayuda Cleveland corporation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to social advocacy, equality, and services for underserved communities.
Throughout my life, I was lucky to have found the guidance I sought to become a better parent, pursue my education and learn to make better and wiser choices.
It took a village for me to be here today, and it is a privilege to be able to help individuals, families, and communities in need of support and guidance to reduce the impact of mental health.
With gratitude to God and everyone who helped me unconditionally in my path, I am paying it forward by assisting others to evolve as better versions of themselves. So parents and children can also look back and enjoy Infinite Love because it is a Parent-Child Journey.
Part of my career is to engage in lifelong learning while adhering to ethical and professional behavior in my practice, particularly as new technologies become available for implementing and delivering mental health services.
I understand the history, mission, role, responsibility, and accountability of the profession personally and in other occupations, such as when collaborating with the psychiatrist and school services.
I value ethical decision-making and professionalism, driven by the NASW Code of Ethics standards, applicable laws and regulations, and by being a reflective advocate and provider.
In my practice, I will only implement, suggest, or consider introducing my clients to evidence-based systems and frameworks with the most up-to-date and effective care approach for treatment.
Each intervention treatment approach must pass the highest standards of evidence available as determined by a scientific advisory board to be part of the "Parent-Child Journey program."
In my professional journey, I met with clients and provided them with individual and family psychotherapy focused on nurturing relationships.
The opportunity allowed me to engage, assess, diagnose, and apply behavioral theories as they applied to their unique individual situations, such as personal problems involving mental health, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, and Trauma. My training includes CBT - DBT - EMDR...
